On the 1st of september six teams from Strathfield South High School competed in the University of NSW Sunsprint Solar Car Challenge. Five of our cars made it to the top 8 out of the 32 teams competing on the day which is an amazing achievement.
After much time and hard work going into the cars we were priviledged to take out 1st place in the NSW championships. The winning team consisted of Orlando, Anthea and David from year 7 and their senior team leader Helen. Mercurius also received a trophy for best video of the competition for his filming and editing efforts.
Our winning team of students will be competing with their hand built solar car in the Australian International model solar challenge in sydney in late november. We wish them the best of luck.
