Symphonia Jubilate is a symphony orchestra made up of students predominantly from primary and secondary schools in the Strathfield education area. Founded in 2013 by Tracy Burjan and Luke Wallace, the orchestra aims to provide students with an opportunity to rehearse learn and perform quality orchestral music from a diverse range of musical styles, as well as to foster a new level of music appreciation and skill. 5 of our students (Mohammed Ali Hammoud in Yr 11, Nicholas Kong in Yr 11, Danielle Vang in Yr 11, Arum Jeon in Yr 9, Felice Felice in Yr 9) at Strathfield South High School have been taking parts of the Symphonia Jubilate and making a great commitment and contribution by going out to rehearsals on a regular basis.
There are three types of orchestra in Symphonia Jubilate and SJ Primo is the one that our students have been taking parts of. SJ Primo is made up of high school students from the Strathfield/Burwood areas and other schools in the Ultimo district. The orchestra have noticed huge leaps of improvement in the sight-reading and musicality of the students since 6 years ago when it was set up.
On 24th November 2018, SJ Primo presented a wonderful performance at Marie Bashir Public School. They performed Symphony no 5 1st movement by Beethoven, Milenium by Richard Meyer and La, La, La … Lieto! By Tracy Burjan.
The performance was a great success and we would like to congratulate all our students who performed beautiful music as part of the SJ Primo on the day.
